Detailed Breakdown
STEP 1
Send us your house plans, sketches and or inspirational ideas through the link below or arrange to meet with our designer at our showroom in Blaketown. Here’s a short form you can fill out to start the process.
If you prefer, we can arrange to come to your home or cabin for an initial measure-up, just contact us to arrange a site visit. (Please note that initial site visits may be subject to a charge.)
Once we have an understanding of your space, expect a call from one of our designers. They will take the time to personally comprehend your ideas, vision and expectations, before they start designing.
STEP 2
Once we know what you’re looking for we will create a 3D rendering of your design to send to you with pricing.
Once the job is accepted, your designer will work with you one-on-one to choose cabinet details such as door styles, colours, wood types, hardware, countertops, etc. We have many details to choose from, but because every job is custom the options are virtually endless.
We will then send one of our carpenters to site to do a site measurement to be sure we have everything just right.
Once measurements and details are confirmed we will finalise the design and send it to our shop floor to start building.
STEP 3
The build process takes approximately 4-6 weeks from the design sign-off, and may vary depending on product lead times and production timelines. This stage of the process is coordinated carefully between you and your designer to ensure you’re updated on the progress of the build and installation schedule.
Our team will be on site with our Co-Owner and Red Seal Carpenter himself, Tyler, to install your cabinets. While onsite, our team is respectful and professional at all times.
Because we never take shortcuts or overlook the small details, you’ll end up with cabinets to brag about.

our designer
Each of our cabinet projects are created and coordinated by our cabinet team lead by our very talented Cabinet Designer, Felicia.
You'll get to know her very quickly as she makes effort to give each of her customers a personal experience. With her fun loving and grounded personally, she's more than capable to create cabinets for any space to meet almost any taste and style.
Chances are you'll be inviting her to your next kitchen party!
we support local
Being on an island in the middle of the Atlantic doesn't make business easy, as most everything you need is shipped in.
We care about our carbon footprint and sustainability, which is why we buy from locally owned companies wherever possible.
From sourcing local products such as cabinet doors, countertops, and other cabinet materials we help our province prosper.
custom built and installed with experience
Our cabinets are handcrafted with top quality materials to almost any size and specification at our facility in Blaketown, NL.
Whether it's a kitchen, vanity, laundry room, mudroom, walk-in closet, office, bar, or built-ins, we've done it all. Our team of builders and installers are a mix of professionally trained carpenters with years of experience in finished carpentry who have fun doing what they do.
Our cabinetry team is lead by our Co-Owner, Tyler Snow, who is a Red Seal Carpenter and prides himself and his team on the very best quality.
No matter the size of job, we put the same attention to detail into each project.
constructed to last
Our cabinets are structurally sound as we take the time to do things right. We screw each cabinet together with solid wood stretchers to ensure structural integrity where many of our competitors use staples and particle core.
Each box and shelf is lined with solid wood strips instead of melamine edging to eliminate peeling and chipping.
Our cabinets are outfitted with German made hinges to last years of wear and tear.
If you're in the market for soft closure drawers, we use quality drawer systems not add-ons that tend to break over time.
installation details
Attention to detail when installing by our experienced team is a huge part of what we do. The small things matter in our opinion and that's why we don't cut corners.
Our carpenters will take the time to install finished panels next to range hoods, and fridges. They will neatly mitre trims for a tidy finished product.
When installing laminate countertops we will carefully scribe tops to ensure no gaps between walls and the top.
If you choose to carry your cabinets to the ceiling we will take care to cope crown mouldings into your wall crown to avoid awkward boxes or joins and complete your Distinctive look.

What are Payment Options and what is the Payment Schedule?
Cabinet orders require a 25% deposit to hold install date, another 50% at the time of order, and the remaining 25% is due upon final installation. Payments can be made through credit card, debit, cheque or email money transfer. Irrevocable assignments through a home mortgage can be arranged with your lawyer. Please contact us for more information.
What are the timelines involved?
While we work as efficiently as possible, the initial design and quote can take as little as a couple days, up to 2 weeks to receive, depending on workloads. Our designers are great at contacting you to let you know when you should receive it. If you are in a hurry, please do not hesitate to mention that up front so we can make your project a priority. The date of installation usually takes approximately 4-6 weeks once the final design is confirmed and signed off. If longer leads items such as dove tail drawers and some hardware, need to be ordered, this may extend the build time. Timelines on stone and solid surface countertop installation are dictated by third party supplier and change depending on their supply and demand. Once the cabinets are installed, we arrange for the countertop supplier to measure-up the site and it typically takes 3 to 4 weeks from that point to see the final product.
What is the Warranty on our cabinets?
There is a 3 year manufacturer’s warranty on our cabinet doors. Occasionally doors tend to warp and can be replaced within this warranty period. Water, moisture or chemical damage is not included in the warranty. Please keep steam and water away from finished products and wipe clean with a damp cloth and warm water only. Our hinges and drawer slides have a 10 year manufacturer’s warranty. Laminate countertops come with a 1 year manufacturer’s warranty. Water or moisture damage is not included in the warranty. Labour to remove and install replacements are subject to labour and travel charges.
What do we need to do to be ready for our cabinets?
All existing cabinetry is to be removed prior to installation. Flooring, painting and plastering should be complete. Plumbing and electrical are the responsibility of the customer. Sink/Cook top openings will be cut by Distinctive if a template is available, however installation of plumbing and/or electrical fixtures are not our responsibility. If for some reason our installers do not feel the site is ready for install, an extra charge may occur for transportation to and from site. Reasons include, but are not limited to, no paint on walls, plastering ongoing, lack of proper heating or ventilation.
Do I need to be onsite for installation?
We will need access to your site however you do not personally need to be there during the installation. In fact, we ask that during the install that you respect our installers and give them space required to do their work properly. This is especially important in the time of COVID-19, where we require the space be clear of all other people, including other trades people, to eliminate contact where possible.
