Species and Finishes of Wood for your Beams

To get a rustic feel from your beams we recommend ordering them in solid pine.

The pine can be easily distressed with notches, worm holes, and other wear, adding a historic and authentic look.

If you prefer a more streamline and tidy style, we suggest ordering your beam in a birch or oak.

Our hardwood beams are made from top-grade plywood instead of solid wood. This is due to the fact solid hardwood in this fashion will warp and twist as humidity and temperatures change in your home.

The use of plywood eliminates this risk and gives the same aesthetic result of solid wood. We can then stain and professionally finish them to match virtually any custom colour stain to your individual taste. For painted beams we suggest our finger-jointed pine or birch, to give you a flawless finish. Our commercial paints can come in any colour.

Beam Sizes

Depending on your needs, we will make your beams to fit your space.

Our pine products can come up to 16 feet in length, but can seamlessly be joined for larger spaces.

Our birch and oak beams are generally made from 8 foot plywood. Joins may be visible in lengths longer than 8 feet. As for depths and widths, we make them as small as 3-4 inches to 24 inches, again depending on your individual space.

While you’re welcome to order your beams and arrange installation yourself, our seasoned team is more than willing to install your beams.
